Operational Levels

St. John Fisher College's operational levels are based on campus population for the fall semester. We will shift between levels based on the infection rate on campus.


Yellow color swatch

Operational Level 1

Yellow (low)

沙巴体育滚球Cases are low and transmission is controlled.

Level 1 Protocols

  • Continue with engineering controls (signs, cleaning, space layout)
  • Continue with COVID-19 policies and practices (masks required, social distancing, hand washing, quarantine/isolation when appropriate)
  • Maintain current room capacities of no more than 50% (will meet state requirement, if lower)
  • Limit social gatherings to 25 people or less (may be increased if YELLOW level can be maintained for > 2 weeks)
  • Continue with instruction modality and reduction of room density
  • Only essential guests are allowed on campus
  • Travel is strongly discouraged
  • COVID-19 monitoring team will monitor visitation policy between residence halls and assess weekly with the ability to limit visitation based on campus conditions

Operational Level 2

Orange (low-moderate)

Level 2 Protocols

  • Continue with engineering controls (signs, cleaning, space layout)
  • Continue with COVID-19 policies and practices (masks required, social distancing, hand washing, quarantine/isolation when appropriate)
  • Maintain current room capacities of no more than 50% (will meet state requirement, if lower)
  • Only essential guests are allowed on campus
  • Travel is strongly discouraged
  • No visitors between residence halls
  • Limit social gatherings to 25 or 10 if > 2 weeks (will meet state requirement, if lower)
  • Consider specific populations attending class remotely if > 2 weeks
  • Residential students discouraged to leave campus for reasons other than academic, work, or family obligations

Operational Level 3

Red (moderate)

Indicators show rates of infection are increasing.

Level 3 Protocols

  • Continue with engineering controls (signs, cleaning, space layout)
  • Continue with COVID-19 policies and practices (masks required, social distancing, hand washing, quarantine/isolation when appropriate)
  • Maintain current room capacities of no more than 50% (will meet state requirement, if lower)
  • Only essential guests are allowed on campus
  • Travel is strongly discouraged
  • No visitors between residence halls
  • Consider specific populations attending class remotely if > 2 weeks
  • Residential students discouraged to leave campus for reasons other than academic, work, or family obligations
  • Limit social gatherings to 10 (will meet state requirement, if lower)
  • Dedensify campus and shift more employees to remote work
  • Stop all in-person research – wrap up in-person projects, limit personnel in labs
  • If > 1 week, cancel all in-person activities
  • If > 1 week, shift all classes to remote

Operational Level 4

Grey (moderate, not improving or worse)

Level 4 Protocols

  • Implement campus closure, including residence halls
  • Move all campus operation to remote within a 7-day timeframe
