Intramurals and Recreation
St. John Fisher College offers a number of programs and activities dedicated to providing you with fitness, friendship, and fun.
Fisher recognizes the importance of balancing academics with healthy athletic competition, physical fitness, and year-round recreation. Whether you’re looking to compete, get fit, or just have fun, you’ll find plenty of programs and facilities that can help you fill your non-study hours at the College.
Intramural competition is available each semester. Fall activities include flag football, co-ed soccer, and co-ed volleyball. Spring semester activities include basketball (men's, women's, and co-ed), indoor soccer, co-ed volleyball, and floor hockey.
Participation in intramural athletics is open to current students not competing in the same sports at the varsity or junior varsity level.
In addition to club sports, the College’s Student Government Association sponsors free yoga and Zumba classes on campus. Sessions for each fitness class occur twice weekly, and are open to anyone of any ability.

Also located in the center is a two-tier fitness room and a weight room, which are open to the entire campus community. The fitness room offers numerous cardio machines, a complete cable system circuit, and lightweight dumbbells. The weight room is focused on free weights and power lifting.
On the south campus lie a softball field and four regulation grass fields, which provide opportunities for intramural leagues and recreational sports. The all-weather, lighted, artificial-turf field at Growney Stadium allows for all-season and night-time play for intramural activities, in addition to the College's intercollegiate teams.
The Campus Center serves as the hub and central gathering place of student activity on campus. The first floor of this two-story facility contains general student gathering spaces, which include a performance space, recreational area, offices for student clubs and organizations, and the College Store.
